On April 12, 2017 Bidspeed was the Presenting Sponsor of the 7th annual Small Business Conference held at Hotel Irvine in California. The conference boasted more than 400 attendees and over 35 buyers. There were some big fish on that buyer list, among them Boeing, the Federal Trade Commission, Los Angeles World Airports, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The conference included a variety of presentations, procurement forecasts, panel discussions and workshops (not to mention lots of opportunities to hobnob with the big fish indicated above.) If you want to find out more about the event, here’s a link to their site: www.socal8aconference.com.

The U.S. Small Business Association was created in 1953 and has served as a cabinet-level federal government agency that serves to aid, counsel, assist, and protect small businesses, the backbone of the American economy (if you don’t believe me, ask any politician on either side of the aisle.) The SBA is a crucial safeguard of free competitive enterprise and thus serves to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation. It uses an extensive network of field offices across the country to help Americans start, build and grow businesses.

The conference was held in partnership with the Santa Ana District Office, responsible for delivering SBA programs and services in the Southern California area. This encompasses Orange, Riverside, and San Bernadino counties. And, if your business is in the area, you should seek them out as their staff will personally help you gain access to SBA loan programs. The office also coordinates and conducts hundreds of training sessions and special events annually. This includes matchmaking forums, loan fairs and business plan competitions.
